Most app ideas don’t fail.
They just never ship.

Follow one roadmap from idea to the App Store — no coding experience required.

Sound familiar?

AI tools feel powerful, but overwhelming — you don't know where to start

You have app ideas, but lack the structure and architecture knowledge to build them

You need a guide, not just another tutorial that leaves you stuck

You're not behind — you just need the right path forward.

One path, from idea to the App Store

This is the first thing you see when you walk into the Studio. The roadmap starts where you are — an idea and a laptop — and takes you, one lesson at a time, all the way to the stores.

Every stop is a lesson with a video. You'll plan your app properly, design it, and have AI generate a real codebase — then keep building until it's running on your phone. No guessing what comes next: the path is drawn, and you're always standing somewhere on it.

Kealy Studio is for dedicated builders — it's small, focused, and close-knit.

This is for you if...

  • You've figured out that one-shot AI app builders won't build your app for you
  • You're ready to invest time and effort to build real skills
  • You value guidance over going it alone
  • You want structure and help – but not spoon feeding

This is NOT for you if...

  • You're after a one-prompt miracle — the tools are good, but not that good
  • You want someone else to build your app for you
  • You’re allergic to debugging and problem-solving

Just exploring? That’s fine — joining is free, and you’ll know within a few lessons whether this is your thing.

Who’s behind this

Why Kealy Studio?

I’m John, and I built Kealy Studio to help get mobile app ideas out of your head and into the App Stores. You might know me from my YouTube channel, where I talk about building apps with AI.

The Studio is over a decade of software engineering, turned into a path you can follow — no guessing what to do next, and no pretending the hard parts don’t exist.

It’s a focused place to make technical progress on your app — not a noisy chatroom. Post when you’re stuck, get a technical read, keep moving.

The Stack

Every app in the Studio is built on the same stack — opinionated by design, so nobody spends weeks second-guessing frameworks. And notice there's nothing of mine in it: no proprietary framework, no walled garden. Every piece is the real, industry-standard tool a professional team would pick today.

React Native

Real native apps on iPhone and Android, from one codebase

Expo & EAS

Runs the app on your phone while you build — then ships it to the stores

Supabase

User accounts, file storage, and a genuine Postgres database

Google Cloud

Your Python APIs, Google sign-in, and secrets — a project of your own

VS Code + Claude Code

Your editor and your AI developer — you steer, it types

Git & GitHub

Every change reviewed and reversible — what makes building with AI safe

App Store

Apple's storefront — where iPhone users find and install your app

Play Store

Google's storefront — the Android equivalent, with its own review process

Everything else

Payments, push notifications, analytics, AI — other services bolt onto this core as your app needs them

If Kealy Studio disappeared tomorrow, your app wouldn't notice — every account is yours, and the codebase is a standard Expo project any developer could pick up. Nothing to export, nothing to eject from.

FlutterFlow

If you've arrived here looking for FlutterFlow guidance: I no longer recommend FlutterFlow, and the community doesn't offer support for it. But maybe it's time to try a different approach? The Studio is a good place to find out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any coding experience?
No coding experience required, but you're sure to end up with some. Kealy Studio is designed for non-technical people who want to build apps using AI tools.
You'll pick up the methodology, techniques and knowledge as you go along. In the end, you'll know a little coding, you'll know about your own architecture, and most importantly, you'll know your own app and how to maintain it.
What's free, and what's paid?
Joining is free, and so is the whole front half of the course: planning your app, designing it, having AI generate a real codebase, and finishing with a production build running on your own phone.
The full membership ($79/month) is everything after AI builds your app — App Store and Google Play submission, sign-in and databases for your users, payments, and my time: office hours and direct messages. You upgrade inside the platform, only if and when you need it.
How is this different from Lovable, Bolt, and the other AI app builders?
Those tools are genuinely good at prototypes: you type a prompt, and something app-shaped appears. The trouble starts when you need a real product — user accounts, a database, push notifications, store review — and you discover you're trapped in someone else's platform with code you can't take with you.
Kealy Studio starts from the other end. You build a production-grade codebase with the same tools professionals use, you own every line of it, and the roadmap tells you what to do at every step. AI still writes most of the code — you're just never locked in when it matters.
How long until I can build real apps?
That depends on your commitment, but many members start building functional apps within their first few weeks. The structured courses are designed to get you building as quickly as possible, not just watching.
What tech stack is being used?
A key focus of Kealy Studio is the use of the same architecture. When everyone uses a different stack, we can't help each other. My architecture is based on Supabase, React Native, Python, GitHub and other tools.
This is the stack I'll encourage you to use – it's extensible to meet any requirement, there's no vendor lock, and yet it does provide the structure you'll need to make production quality, maintainable apps – not dinky toy apps.
Can I bring code I downloaded from other apps, like Loveable or FlutterFlow?
In theory, yes... but in practice, this is trickier. Code from those apps can be chaotic and exhibit poor architecture. Most of the time, I'll suggest a rewrite. But you can definitely feed screens and logic from your old codebase to inform the new build.
What if I get stuck?
That's what Kealy Studio is for! The community is open to everyone — ask questions, share progress, and follow other people's builds. Full members also get a straight line to me: direct messages, screenshots and all, plus live office-hours sessions where we get you unstuck together.
What if I just want a web app?
Kealy Studio is focused on mobile apps, however, the architecture I teach is identical for web apps, except for the frontend code.
So you can easily adapt the stack for web, but note that most of the discussions and content will prioritise mobile applications. This is a great starting point if you're interested in having both.
What does it cost beyond the membership?
I'm upfront about this in the lessons, so here it is too: the stores and cloud services have their own costs, in your name. An Apple developer account is $99/year, Google Play is a $25 one-off, and you'll want an AI coding assistant (roughly $20/month). Everything else runs on generous free tiers while your app is small.
The upside of paying those bills yourself: the accounts are yours, the code is yours, and nothing about your app depends on me or on Kealy Studio.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Joining is free, full stop. The full membership has no long-term commitment — you can cancel anytime from your account, no questions asked.
